Default Pet/Creature system improvement.

I was thinking... well... I was not, I was taking a shower, and the idea just came to my mind.

Fisrt, read these two:

http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s....php?t=3012379
We also have the brand new shiny Hero buttons next to hero health bars. (I love where they are and how it works)
There is also the 'Brutal Mauling' issue.
You can have different types of 'creature allies':
- A Pet.
- Nature Spirits
- Bound Spirits
- Minions

Ok, now for the idea:
The basic main idea is to add a way to control pets and creatures similar to hero control, using buttons like those heroes have.

And here's my examle to make it:

- First, add a panel for each profession:
A panel for ranger Pet and Spirits...
A panel for ritualist spirits...
A panel for Necromaner minions...
A panel for each next profession that summons creatures.

CREATURES
- 0..2 little narrow buttons will be added in the bottom of the party window. One for each profession that has creatures.
- Hitting that button will show the panel, with the health bar of each creature to select them.
- Next to each health of any creature that can attack (minions and some spirits) will be a square target button with the shape and size of the Hero Panel button, but with the 'target' icon instead:
  • Click the button and select an enemy, and the creature will attack it if it can (minios will move to them, spirits will only attack if enemy is in their range).
  • Click the button and select an ally, and the creature ill defend (attack the ones attakin her) and follow her (if it can move).
  • Click the ground and the creature will stay and wait there until it is attacked, you give them another task or they die.
  • Click on yourself and they will follow you again.

PETS
  • The pet button will be different, instead of a target, it will show the 'pet panel'.
  • The pet panel will be a bit like the Hero panel, but thinner, without portrait and three skill slots instead of 8 (I'll explain later this).
  • You'll be able to change the name of the pet just by clicking and typing another name, the change will take effect when you close the pet panel.
  • Each pet will 'learn' three skills, at levels 11, 15 and 20.
  • The first two skills will depend on evolution (defense, neutral, offense). You can't choose it, it will depend exclusively in which 'evolution' the pet gets.
    • Offense (Aggresive, Dire). For example, a an "+attack, +attack speed, ---defense" stance, an unblockable attack...
    • Neutral (No name, Elder) they are the harder ones to think. A vampiric attack and, and interrupting chance one (+attack, 10% chances to interrut, for example)... etc...
    • Defense (Playful, Hearty), could be a block stance and a self healing skill or a +armor stance.
  • The third will depend on the creature type. That is, there will be 6 skills common to all pets, and 1 particular for each pet type (all cats will learn one, all bears another, all dogs/hyenas another, all walking birds another, all reptiles another one, etc.)
  • Pet will only be able to use one skill at the same time. You'll have to choose wich one the pet will use from its available list. This could be set only in outposts, so a way to access the pet panel inside outposts should be added.
  • The chances of the pet using a skill are based on Beast Mastery: +2..6.66% per level (30...100% when Beast mastery 15). Even if the pet has enough energy and adrenaline, won't use it always unless Bast Mastery is high enough. You can't force the pet to use the skill.
  • Pet skills values and efectivenes will also depend on Beast Mastery and Pet level.
  • You'll be able to choose the target, and even send your pet to attack or lure a target without attacking yourself. Along with the three skill slots, there will be a target button, and a flag button.
  • Brutal Mauling will be 'repaired' (Health regen chances, fr example) turned into the Bear type lvl 20attack.
  • PvP Characters will have a way to get at least one pet of each type: they already have a dog (wolf), a cat(melandru stalker), a bear(black bear), a two legged bird (Moa), a reptile (the lost purple lizard, XD), a boar, etc. For this, a Pet Tamer Master will be added to the Isle of Nameless and one of those pets will be in certain spots of the isle.
[/LIST]
Examples of attacks could be:
- Bird Type: Hard Beak. Next 1..5 attacks will have 20% armor penetration.
- Dog Type: Fearsome Howl. For 5..20 seconds, if enemy target is moving the attack will be unblockable.
- Reptile Type: Cold Blood. For 3...10 seconds, pet is immune to hexes.
- Spider type: Poison: For 1..15 seconds, pet attacks have 5...50% chances of causing 5 seconds of poison.
- Bear Type: Brutal Mauling: Deals +0..10 extra damage and has a 10..90% cance of adding 5 seconds of bleeding.

Pet skills will suffer nerfing an evolution like any other do, in addition to the reduced chances of getting the skills working, so balancing will not be a problem.

Wow that was one seriously long shower lol

Some potential there in your suggestion if possibly taking the game a bit too technically than what is needed. Would be nice however if you could have more than one pet trained up, ie a slashing type pet, piercing pet, different levels of evolution pets for teams/pvp/solo farming/different areas etc
